Swarming bees
The rule is that the old mother leaves the nest, taking with her more than half of workers. Workers in turn take with them supplies of honey in honey sacs. That amount of honey is enough to survive up to ten days. Bees must therefore hurry to make a new nest on time.
The young queen that stayed in the hive, with the disposal of the rest of the workers, as well as honey, pollen and bee bread, quickly rebuilds family.
This year’s high swarming gives hope for settlement of the next beehive logs.

Nowadays, in our climate, we are unlikely to meet wild bees. Those bees, which leave the beehive, and which beekeeper will not find, most often do not survive the winter.
