The fourth edition of Barciowisko

Barciowisko 2017

BARCIOWISKO 2017 is a one-day event combining the idea of environmental education drawing the society’s attention to issues connected with the role and importance of bees in people’s lives, popularisation and local promotion of tree beekeeping as well as a practical construction of log hives. Educational activities for children and teenagers will be aimed at explaining the role of bees in the ecosystem and raising social awareness of the need to actively protect native bee species and stop biological imbalance and degradation of ecosystems’ functions.  The practical construction of log hives will be organized as a competition for the best log hive. There will be 10 two-person teams from which winners will be selected. Struggles of ten tree beekeeping teams will be observed by the jury. All logs made during the competition will be given to constructors and log hanging and location will be arranged with the Forest District.
