What bees do during the winter?
The bees in the winter, unlike other insects do not hibernate (they slowing down vital functions) eg. a bear. They form inside the hive so-called withers to maintain the proper temperature. In late autumn and winter it is around 18 - 20 degrees Celsius, and in the spring as about 34 degrees. If bees have accumulated adequate amount of food and will not be of extreme weather in the spring, then in a few months we will see again the bees around a hive and bee-keeping logs. Whether a bees is alive and can withstand cold temperatures shows the characteristic frost of holes through which the bees fly during activity, resulting from freezing of the water contained in the air issuing from the beehives.
